Mission Statement
Our mission is to provide a highly effective therapeutic program for adults with mental illness so they can learn to manage their symptoms, achieve their highest level of independence, and go on to lead rewarding lives.
History
In the late 1980s, Dan and Rosemary Kelly’s son John was diagnosed with schizophrenia. Following a series of psychiatric breaks and hospitalizations, they searched in vain for a program that would provide the treatment and follow-up care that would make a lasting difference to John. Faced with the void of rehabilitation and treatment centers available to them, the Kellys conceived of and created Rose Hill Center. With the help of friends, family, mental health professionals, corporations and foundations, the funds were raised to purchase a 372-acre parcel in Holly, Michigan, erect buildings, and hire medical staff and small administrative team.
Rose Hill welcomed its first residents in May, 1992.
